Cemetery Beautification

Cemetery Beautification

Our cemetery is a place of rest for our loved ones and a place of worship. Items placed on the graves should be adhered to according to the owner’s deed. We have liability to follow for the safety of all people visiting the cemetery. Some of the deed reminders are:

“No fence, enclosure, curbing or steps shall be erected; shrubs or hedges planted on or around any lot or grave; no artificial flowers, statues, chairs, balloons, solar lights, shall be permitted. If any trees or shrubs in any lot by means of their roots or branches become detrimental to said lot or adjacent lots, or become dangerous or inconvenient, it shall be our duty to enter into said lot and remove said trees and shrubs or such parts. No tree shall be cut down or destroyed without the consent of Cemetery Authorities.”

General clean up days are scheduled to remove decorations and holiday ornaments from graves and roadways. Due to the volume of removed items, it is not possible to claim items after removal. Therefore, any items families wish to keep must be collected prior to scheduled clean up dates. Notice of these clean up dates is posted in the Parish Bulletin and signage at the cemetery. Check all the Rules and Regulations of your deed. Information can be acquired at the parish office and on our webpage at www.saintpatrickwareham.org for future information. Please contact the parish office at 508-295-2411 if you have questions.
