Summer Program

SUMMER PROGRAM
Our Faith Formation program has changed! Instead of weekly classes during the academic year we have switched to a summer model which condense the weeks during the academic year into one week session in the summer. This new model increases the knowledge of the faith and also provides community building with the students and parish. By celebrating Mass each morning the students gain a greater understanding of what the Mass is and hopefully also gain a deeper appreciation for it as well! It may sound like there is less time in this model, however, we have more hours in the summer program than we did when we had weekly classes!

The curriculum used is Christ Our Life by Loyola Press for grades 1-7. One Faith, One Lord by Sadlier for grade 8 and Confirmed in the Spirit for grade 9 as well as the Catholicism Project, and Respect Life for both grades. We also incorporate vocation lessons and the rosary for most grades as well.

All grades have incorporated the Diocese of Fall River’s Maltreatment Program which enforces our efforts in the protection of God’s children. If you wish to know more about this program, curriculum, or any other, please contact the Faith Formation Office and we will be happy to share it with you!

Because class size is larger and we house all grades at once our parish hall cannot accommodate us, so we rent out Wareham High School for the week. We also be hire professional teachers to teach the classes and each class has at least one volunteer aide to assist the teacher. The week-long summer program runs Monday, June 25, 2012 through Friday, June 29, 2012 from 7:45am to 2:00pm.

Each day begins by celebrating Mass at St. Patrick’s Church. Parents are encouraged to attend daily Mass with their child. We ask that the students arrive in a timely fashion for Mass at St. Patrick’s Church by 7:45am each day. After Mass, the students walk over to Wareham High School with his/her teacher where they spend the day. Please pack a lunch & drink for your child. A mid-morning snack will be provided. Please also let us know if your child has any allergies and /or should require medication during the day.

In the event of inclement weather, Mass will be celebrated at the High School. Please drop your child off directly at the High School at 8:00am. Pick-up will be at the High School at 2:00pm from the front door. Please make sure your child dresses accordingly, he/she may be going outdoors for part of the day.If you are registering for our Summer Program then you will also be registering for our Hearts to Christ Program as well. This is a blended program and anyone who attends the Summer

Program will also be required to attend Hearts to Christ with their parents. You may find a registration form here. Please fill it out and mail it back to the Faith Formation Office.
